All rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan and may eventually need to be serviced or recycled. The Poynt Smart Terminal and Poynt 5 batteries are designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 800 complete charge cycles. If the device needs to be disposed for any reason, the device should be returned by Poynt for proper decommissioning.
Don’t attempt to replace the battery yourself—you may damage the battery, which could cause overheating, fire, and injury. The lithium-ion battery in your terminal should be serviced or recycled by Poynt or an authorized service provider, and must be recycled or disposed of separately from household waste. Dispose of batteries according to your local environmental laws and guidelines.
